Vesak Celebration at Shantideva

This coming Sunday, May 11, Shantideva Monastery welcomes the community to a Vesak celebration. Vesak is the annual observance of the Buddha’s birthday and/or enlightenment day. 

You are welcome to join us for a half-day of meditation from 10 a.m. until 2 or 2:30 p.m. (you can arrive as early as 9:30).  Please bring your own lunch!

After lunch we will have a ceremony involving bathing baby Buddha.

9:30am gathering
10am sitting meditation
10:30am chanting in Vietnamese and English
11am Dharma sharing
11:45am break
12 noon walking meditation
12:30pm mindful lunch (bring your own vegetarian food)
1:30pm Vesak celebration
