Bay Area Fire-Building Session in San Francisco for Order of Interbeing (OI) Members and Aspirants

Saturday, May 9 @ 10:00 am 1:30 pm

Date: Saturday, May 9, 2026

Time: 10:00 am – 1:30 pm

Location: Presidio Tunnel Tops, 210 Lincoln Boulevard, San Francisco, CA 94129

Dear Bay Area OI Siblings and Aspirants, you are invited to our second Fire-Building Session.

The Presidio Tunnel Tops is a stunning open-air park at the gateway of the Presidio, offering sweeping views of the Golden Gate Bridge, beautiful public lawns, accessible restrooms, and paid parking. It is easily reachable by public transit (Muni Routes 43 and 30), as well as by Waymo or Uber.

This is a beautiful opportunity for our Bay Area OI community to come together in person, practice in community, and share a casual recitation of the Fourteen Mindfulness Trainings.

Please RSVP

To help us prepare, please reach out and let us know:

  1. Will you be joining us on May 9?
  2. Are you able to offer a ride to others? If so, how many seats are available?
  3. What city in the Bay Area are you coming from? (This helps with carpooling coordination and future location planning.)

If you feel called to help shape and organize this gathering, we warmly welcome your energy and creativity — please reach out to any member of the organizing committee.

With care, joy, and deep gratitude, Dylan, Sheryl, and Tanya

July Day of Mindfulness: Great Love and Letting Go

Saturday, July 25 @ 11:30 am 5:00 pm

You are invited to a Day of Mindfulness Hosted by Potluck Sangha

Join us for a nourishing day of mindfulness dedicated to exploring the depth and freedom of Great Love—a love that is spacious, wise, and liberating. Rooted in the teachings of the Buddha and inspired by the insights of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, this day invites you to touch the heart of love through presence, reflection, and gentle practice.

The Buddha taught that true love has four essential elements: lovingkindness (metta), the ability to offer gentleness and well-being; compassion (karuna), the capacity to be in touch with suffering and the wish to alleviate it; joy (mudita), the delight in the happiness of others; and equanimity (upekkha), a balanced, steady openness of heart. Thay Thich Nhat Hanh offered a beautiful insight in translating equanimity as inclusiveness—a love that embraces all without discrimination, that does not cling, exclude, or take sides.

What does it mean to experience equanimity as inclusiveness? How is equanimity deeply connected to letting go? How is letting go an expression of true love?

This day will invite us to reflect on the willingness to love without needing to hold on, to care without needing to control, and to be present without needing things to be different. It is the courage to allow change, impermanence, and uncertainty—and still remain open-hearted. This is Great Love: a love that liberates rather than confines.

Please bring a bag lunch, floor cushion, and a yoga mat or blanket (for uncarpeted flooring) if you would like to lie down during deep relaxation/guided meditation. The room will also have chairs available.

Space is limited and advance registration is required! Please register soon: Registration link

Come as you are. Leave lighter.

May Day of Mindfulness with Victoria Mausisa: Fierce Love — Resistance and Rest

Exterior photo showing the East Bay Meditation Center

Saturday, May 23 @ 10:00 am 2:30 pm

A day for reflection, recovery, and engagement

NOTE: This Day of Mindfulness will be held at East Bay Meditation Center (EBMC). See details below.

With cruelty and injustice in the world running rampant every day, it can seem difficult to know what to do.

We invite you — activists, advocates, practitioners, and all who support the creation of a better world — to gather for a day of mindfulness at EBMC.

Our purpose, first, is to rest and recover our strength. If you have been protesting, come and let the sangha hold you for a day.

A second purpose is for mindful discussion about where we find hope, and how our actions might help realize our hopes.

Dharma teacher Victoria Mausisa will be offering a teaching, and other members of the NorCal Plum Village community will lead practices like sitting meditation, walking meditation, and eating meditation. Please bring a vegetarian lunch.

All are welcome!

East Bay Meditation Center is approximately 3–4 blocks from 19th Street BART in Oakland. Metered street parking is available, as well as at the Douglas Parking lot ($10.50/day) located at 1811 Harrison Street.

Participants will be offered to wear N95 or KN95 face masks, but face masks are not mandatory.

Fragrance-Free: East Bay Meditation Center is a scent free / fragrance free space. To attend in person, you need to be completely free of fragranced body and clothing products.

EBMC is wheelchair accessible.

Opportunity for Dana:

We joyfully receive your dana/donations as acts of generosity and want you to know your presence is enough. For transparency, we are renting EBMC for $250 to host this day together.

To support this Day of Mindfulness and help cover the space rental at EBMC, please consider sending a donation ahead of time, via Venmo to @JennaD7 .
