To honor Thay’s aspiration to continually renew and refresh the dharma through the unique perspective and insights of young adults

Event Description:

Sangha members of all ages are invited to attend a webinar panel of long-term lay and monastic Wake Uppers to collectively explore how we can honor Thay’s aspiration to renew and refresh the Dharma continually.

The panel participants will share their perspectives and insights, as young adults, in relation to the mud/lotus of Relationships, Livelihood, Daily life, and Sangha. The panel will be followed by a Q&A. 

Through this panel, we aspire to connect…

1) Those already a part of the Wake Up Community; 

2) Practitioners who are Wake Up age who are in all-ages Sanghas who may not be familiar with Wake Up; 

3) Practitioners of all ages in our wider Mahasangha family.

Invitamos a miembros de Sanghas de todas las edades a asistir al panel de webinar compuesto por practicantes de Wake Up, ya sean laicos con experiencia o monásticos, para explorar colectivamente cómo podemos honrar la aspiración de Thay para refrescar y renovar continuamente el Dharma. El panel de adultas y adultos jóvenes compartirá sus perspectivas y visiones profundas en torno al Lodo/Loto de las relaciones, medios de vida, vida cotidiana y Sangha. Al final del panel habrá una sesión de preguntas y respuestas. 

[Nota: Las y los panelistas ofrecerán su participación en inglés y tendremos traducción en tiempo real al español].

A través de este panel deseamos conectar con:

1) Quiénes ya son parte de la comunidad Wake Up.

2) Practicantes en edad de Wake Up quiénes participan en Sanghas para todas las edades y quizá conozcan de Wake Up

3) Practicantes de todas las edades dentro de nuestra amplia familia Mahasangha.

Friday Meditations for Thay

Dear Sangha,

You are invited to a time of quiet contemplation this Friday, January 28 from 7:30 to 8:00 pm.

Let us sit in meditation together and offer our energy of peace, love, and gratitude to our beloved teacher Thich Nhat Hanh during this time of transformation.

We will continue this practice in observance of a traditional Forty-Nine Day period of transition.

Peaceful Heart Sangha session on January 30, 2022 in honor of Thầy Nhat Hanh

Dear PHS (Peaceful Heart Sangha) friends, 

To continue showing our gratitude and honoring Thầy Nhất Hạnh’s Transition, we will have another special session this upcoming Sunday, January 30, 2022.We hope you stay peaceful with your compassionate heart in loving memories of Thầy. 

Please see the Zoom link at the end of this email and join us Sunday, January 30 from 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm (California time). To connect with the energy of our dear beloved Thầy. We will together listen to various videos of Plum Village Community with the ‘Coming and Going in Freedom’ theme:

  • The Great Bell Chanting of Thầy & brother Phap Niem. 

Our collective energy to practice mindfulness with these videos will be very powerful. 
We also would like to invite you to share how you first met Thầy and /or the Plum Village Community and the benefits of your mindfulness practices. 

Also as a reminder, please attend the Ceremony for Thầy at the Compassion Meditation Center, Pho Tu Pagoda in Hayward (17327 Meekland AveHayward CA 94541) on Saturday January 29 at 10:00 am.

Here is an announcement from SFZC that’s of interest to our community. Please share with your sanghas!

At San Francisco Zen Center, we have two online events coming up next month with teachers whose background or current teaching resides in the Plum Village tradition.

On February 12th, Kaira Jewel Lingo, a former PV monastic who received lamp transmission from Thich Nhat Hanh in 2007, will be offering a session of compassionate reflection titled Sankofa, Go Back and Get It

On February 19th, Sister Peace from PV and Peggy Ward will be offering us stories and practices from the Thich Nhat Hanh tradition in an online workshop called Inside the Now: Body and Mind Drop Away
